Easy to make a delicious soup. This is a great meal for lunch or dinner when it’s cold.
Ingredients
- Ham hock 800g
- One finely diced brown onion
- Chop two carrots
- Celery sticks, 2 – sliced
- 2 cups rinsed yellow split peas
- 1 Bay Leaf
- 10 cups of water
Method

- Put split peas in the bottom of your slow cooker.
- Add celery, carrots, bay leaves, and ham hock.
- Cover with water.
- Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 4-6 hours. Or until the meat falls off quickly.
- Discard fat and skin. Chop the meat and add it to the soup. Stir and serve.
