Banana choc chip muffins

This muffin combines my two favorite muffins, chocolate chip, and banana bread, to make a delicious snack or breakfast. These muffins will make your house smell amazing and are also made with pantry staples and can be prepared in no time. It’s hard to beat a warm, freshly baked banana muffin with chocolate chips oozing out. They are delicious with milk, coffee, or tea.

Make a big batch, and you’ll have enough for a week of breakfasts or snacks. Below is my complete recipe tutorial, including step-by-step photos, helpful tips, and variations.

Overripe Bananas are a must in this recipe. Underripe bananas will result in a lumpy mixture. The bananas are also less sweet, which can affect the taste. Check out this tip if you want to ripen bananas quickly.

Chocolate Chips –I prefer semi-sweet chocolate, but you can use any type you like: milk chocolate, dark chocolate, or white chocolate.

Butter () – I use unsalted unsweetened butter to control the amount of added salt. If you use salted butter, omit any additional salt from the recipe.

Salt –although this is a sweet dish, salt is necessary to enhance the flavors.

  • If you want to check if the muffins are ready, insert a toothpick in the middle of the muffin. It should come out clean and without any wet batter.
  • You can add some nuts to the batter to add a little variety. 1/2 cup each of pecans and walnuts would be great.
  • Add any chocolate you prefer, whether milk, dark, or white.
  • If you prefer, you can substitute the chocolate chips with nuts or raisins.
  • Add 1/2 tsp cinnamon to the batter. It’s an excellent addition for Fall.
  • You can make a loaf of banana bread with chocolate chips instead of muffins.
