- 2 ½ tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 ½ cups milk
- 1 (8 ounces) package shredded sharp Cheddar cheese

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220° C).
- Step 2
Boil the cauliflower and broccoli in a large saucepan. Add enough water to cover. Drain and transfer to a medium baking pan.

Melt butter in a small saucepan on low heat. Stir in flour. Slowly whisk in the milk. Increase heat to medium. Once the mixture has thickened, add English mustard, cayenne pepper and salt. Continue to whisk the mixture until it forms a thick sauce. Be careful not to let the mixture boil. Stir in 1/3 of the cheese and continue to whisk until smooth.

Sauce over the broccoli and cauliflower. Bake for 30 minutes in the oven or until the sauce is bubbly and lightly browned. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top during the last 10 minutes of cooking.
