It is easy to make frozen yogurt at your home. I enjoy going out to eat fro-yo. It’s also a good way to use some of the ripe summer fruits.

As I had a surplus of strawberries, I cut them into slices and frozen them to use later. First, I made strawberry frozen yogurt. Here we are!

It takes only 5 minutes to make this frozen yogurt! A few tips will ensure that you get a creamy, delicious treat that’s almost as good as ice-cream but much healthier.

The consistency of frozen yoghurt can be tricky to achieve at home. When you freeze yogurt the water in it crystallizes, making it more icy and less creamy. If you don’t expect it to be as smooth as ice-cream (which is not entirely true), you can still make it creamier at home with a few simple tips.

How can frozen yogurt be made more creamy?
Add cream to whole milk Greek yogurt if desired. Greek yogurt is not only richer and tangier in flavor, but also thicker. Greek yogurt, also known as concentrated yogurt or strained yogurt, is a yogurt that has been strained to remove whey, and other liquids. This makes it a creamier base, better for froyo. Add a bit of heavy cream if you like. If you want a thick, creamy result, you can even substitute the Greek yogurt with labneh (which is extra-strained yogurt).
Use a small amount of corn syrup. Corn syrup is optional, but it will improve the texture of frozen strawberries. By preventing large ice crystals from forming as the mixture freezes, corn syrup can improve the texture of your strawberry frozen.
Sugar is a good addition. The recipe works just fine with honey alone, but I really wanted to use only honey. However, the sugar does two things. It helps the texture, just like corn syrup. As the mixture freezes, some of its sweetness will disappear. So even if it tastes great to you, it may not taste as good later. Sugar is added to enhance the flavor.
A banana will help! Add a frozen banana to strawberry frozen yogurt to increase volume and creaminess.
Before freezing, cover the top of your yogurt mixture with parchment. By adding a thin layer of parchment paper on top of the yogurt mixture before covering it tightly, you can prevent ice crystals.
Ingredients
This recipe is easy to make and you only need a few ingredients. If you do not like strawberries, you can substitute any frozen fruit you want. It’s important to get the right ratio of frozen fruit and yogurt. I found that 6 cups of sliced fruit per 1 cup of Greek Yogurt worked well. You will need the following ingredients to make this delicious recipe:

6 cups frozen fruit slices. You can use any fruit combination you like. Frozen peaches, mangoes, and berries all make great choices.

Use 1 cup Greek yogurt made with whole milk. Use only full-fat Greek yogurt.

Sweeten with honey and sugar. I used Greek honey, and granulated granulated. You can adjust the quantities to suit your taste, but I found that 1/4 cup of each worked best for me.
Orange or Vanilla extract
Corn Syrup

How to make frozen yogurt at home
This easy frozen yogurt recipe does not require an ice-cream maker. A food processor or blender will do.

You can make frozen yogurt using your food processer. Simply add the sliced frozen fruits, Greek yogurt and honey to sweeten. Add some orange extract and corn syrup. Blend everything until it is smooth and creamy, almost like a thick milkshake or smoothie.

Select a container that can be tightly covered and is freezer-safe. Transfer the yogurt mixture into the container, smoothing the surface. Cover the surface with a sheet of parchment, cover tightly and then freeze until the mixture hardens.

How long should you freeze the food?
The strawberry Greek yogurt can be served immediately as a milkshake or smoothie in glasses. To serve as frozen yogurt, it must be frozen for at least six hours. Allow it to sit out for a couple of minutes to make it easier to scoop.
