Pea and ham soup slow cooker

Easy to make a delicious soup. This is a great meal for lunch or dinner when it’s cold.

Ingredients

  • Ham hock 800g
  • One finely diced brown onion
  • Chop two carrots
  • Celery sticks, 2 – sliced
  • 2 cups rinsed yellow split peas
  • 1 Bay Leaf
  • 10 cups of water

Method

    1. Put split peas in the bottom of your slow cooker.
    2. Add celery, carrots, bay leaves, and ham hock.
    3. Cover with water.
    4. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 4-6 hours. Or until the meat falls off quickly.
    5. Discard fat and skin. Chop the meat and add it to the soup. Stir and serve.
