How to Make an Easy Potato Bake
Everybody looks for ways to save time when cooking dinner. You can use a packet of French Onion Soup from the grocery store. Pour over the sliced potatoes. Mix with whipping cream. Add grated cheese. This is not a diet food. Instead, it should be called Heart Attack Potatoes. This is not a very appealing name. Everyone is vegan and healthy these days.
POTATOES CREAMY AU GRATIN
All dinner side dishes are similar, including Potatoes au, Gratin, and Scalloped Potatoes. Au Gratin is usually topped with a cheesy, bready topping. Scalloped potatoes are generally just cooked in cream. This Au Gratin Potato Bake is a combination of the two. You can use any cheddar cheese, even if I used Monterrey Jack in the video. This recipe is also called French Onion Scalloped Potatoes. If you need clarification, you are not alone.
RECIPE TIPS
- The night before, slice the potatoes and place them in the refrigerator with cold water.
- Remember to let the potatoes rest after they come out of the oven. This allows them to solidify, and the dish will not be “soupy.” Rest for 10 to 15 minutes (don’t worry; the potatoes are still hot).
- Add homemade onion jam to the potatoes after cooking.
- You can use 1 cup of sour cream with 1 cup of whipping cream instead of only whipping cream.
- The thickness of the potatoes you slice can affect your cooking time. Slice the potatoes as thinly as possible or increase the cooking time if they are thicker.
