The air fryer is a favorite for many reasons. It’s easy to turn on, and it heats quickly.

The food cooks faster and more evenly. It emits less heat and smells in the house.

With minimal oil, you can cook healthier than any other method.

It’s not necessary to worry about the fat splashing everywhere when you fry, grill, or bake, as it is dangerous and messy.

Last but not least, I would like to mention the ease of cleaning afterward!

To prevent the sausages from sticking to the bottom of the air fryer, we spray a little oil on them.

What type of sausages should I cook?

All types of sausages can be cooked in an air fryer. You can cook all kinds of links in an air fryer, from the traditional Great British bangers such as the Cumberland and Lincolnshire to spicy or sweet Italian-German bratwursts.

The air fryer can be used to reheat cooked sausages and Frankfurt hotdogs.

What temperature should I set my air fryer to?

Please do not put them at a higher temperature, thinking that they will cook quicker. The sausages will either burn or not cook inside.

While waiting for the air-fryer to heat up, use a sharp knife or a fork.

This will prevent the skin from separating during cooking, and it also helps drain out some fat.

How long should you cook sausages in the air fryer?

The cooking time depends on the type of sausage and its thickness.

This is a recipe for thick Cumberland sausages that takes 12 minutes to cook.

It is best to rotate the food halfway through the cooking process, but this is optional. The air fryer circulates the air well to ensure that the food is cooked evenly.

You can cook up to the number of sausages that fit on a single sheet in your air fryer. Avoid stacking the links, as this will prevent them from cooking evenly.

Can frozen sausages be cooked in the air fryer?

The sausages that you buy frozen at the supermarket are specially prepared so they can be safely cooked from frozen. They can be safely cooked in an Air Fryer.

Check them after the suggested time and continue to cook if needed.

If you’ve frozen your fresh sausages, that is another story. Defrosting the links in the refrigerator (overnight) is recommended before using the air fryer.

Can I reheat cooked sausages in the air fryer?

Air fryers can be used to reheat cooked sausages. It takes only 4 minutes for them to heat up from the cold.

Sausages are great to have for breakfast. They can be part of an English fry-up or in a breakfast sandwich with ketchup.

Air Fryer Sausages

Anyone who loves sausages will love a fried one for breakfast, dinner, or lunch. What temperature and how long should you cook the links in an air fryer? This recipe shows you how to cook fresh or frozen sausages in an air fryer.

The air fryer can be used to cook British bangers like Cumberland and Lincolnshire, as well as simple thick pork sausages or sweet or spicy Italian sausages.

For smaller sausages such as cocktail sausages and my kids’ favorite chipolatas, keep the temperature constant but adjust the cooking time. 

Ingredients

  • 6 Sausages
  • Spray Oil 3 Squirts

Instructions

  • Pre-heat air fryer for 5 minutes to 180degC/350degF
  • Each sausage should be pricked a few times using a sharp knife
  • Spray the bottom of the air fryer a few times with spray oil to keep links from sticking.
  • Set the timer for 12 minutes. (Adjust for larger, smaller, or frozen links; see below).
  • Turn the pan over with tongs halfway through cooking.
  • After 12 minutes, check and cook for longer if needed.
  • Choose your favorite meal to serve with
