This surprisingly tasty slice is made with an unlikely combination of apples and sour cream. Your guests will be asking for the ingredients.
Ingredients
- One packet of vanilla cake mix
- 1 cup desiccated Coconut
- Three heaping tablespoons of melted Butter
- Buy one tin pie apples
- 200 grams of sour cream
- One egg
Method
- Preheat oven to 180degC. (160degC with fan).
- Mix cake mix, coconut, and melted Butter. It may seem a bit dry initially, but it is meant to look like that.
- Bake for 10 minutes at a moderate temperature in a square cake pan lined with parchment paper.
- Place the apples in the pie on the warm cake base.
- Spread sour cream on top. Combine it with a beaten egg.
- Dust with coconut or cinnamon, depending on your preference (cinnamon looks best).
- Return the oven to baking mode and bake for around 20 minutes.
- Refrigerate and cut into small slices, as this is a vibrant slice.
